windows scam ?

i wish it was me they phoned ...i happen to know a bit regarding kompooters and im in a great mood at the mo with my arm ect that it would have made my day....

As you know by now, it's a scam - I've had a lot of people tell me they've had these calls recently (over the past few months)... one of them paid an undisclosed (which I presume means silly) sum for a 5 year AVG license - as an AVG reseller it's certainly the first time I'd heard of such a thing!

This particular guy was amazed that they "knew" he'd been having trouble with his PC - given that almost all PCs running Windows have some form of malware or other lurking on them, I'm less impressed

My dad gets calls like that all the time. If I'm ever bored enough, I must have a chat with them one day.

put an email together with the information and sent it to microsoft they will investagate it themselves if they had a number of reports in same area and will attempt to prosecute if they have enough
