Windows 7 SP1 update....

.... downloaded eventually and slowed my browsing to a crawl, no real advice gained from the internet as to why, so cleared the cache (I'm using chrome by the way) and I now have lightning speed t'internet again!!!

Thought I'd put a post up as someone else might gain from my experimental fluke!

No idea why it led to that problem, but it is all good. I don't use Chrome, is it just a front end for IE Explorer?

I haven't used Chrome in a while, I found it ate memory and cache, slowing down massively with all the disk access.

I'm now an Opera user, no probs here.

I always liked Opera from back in the day.

Firefox is my main squeeze, but I use most of the popular browsers regularly. Apart from Chrome, but now having a look at it.

Stores its cache in a proprietary way. Probably similar to Firefox.

Can't work out why the SP1 would have affected it.

But like a lot of fixes, if it works why question it?

im glad you got it installed again, but as your cache fills, will it slow?
