Ah, but I still need that guide thingy to clamp onto the downtube so as the give cable a route before it kicks up to the seat tube to connect with the mech? Like one of these?

Yes, then you just use a loop of cable outer as pictured.

Hmm. Am now thinking of moving this on. Would anyone be interested before I put it on the sale thread? Would include the new decal set as well, and just looking to cover costs, so c.£70 plus postage (or free delivery if local-ish to me (S. Oxfordshire)?

Have had a nice note from Wilson's (seriously, so patient and helpful), very likely 501 tubing. If that helps...
Have now popped this in the loft to mature nicely
