Will call you back

On the telephone and one get's told;

'we'll call you back''

And then nothing all day, week... is the above an accepted fob off in industry, or is more patience required ?
 
If someone asks if they can call me back,I generally say "no,it's alright,I'll call you."
Fed up of waiting for people to call back! The industry I work in, if we promise call backs and don't make them, we then have to go through a cumbersome, formal complaints process!
 
Never accept that, ask when you can call back, you have to keep control, if they say 'we will call you back' it means they have control, and probabuly never will.

Agree. Always be in control. Don't be pissed about.
 
If they say that i go along with it.

And generally ring them within 3 hours (as its usually council or similar and they normally say an hour to me i think).

Or some other timeframe.
