wifi printers

got me a nice wifi printer from amazon yesterday.3 hours later it was back in its box going back...easy to set up?nollocks.it was seen when on usb but on wifi ...nutten.i could all the things i was supposed to put in but it kept refusing to be seen...sometimes it wouldnt connect as it kept saying something about ip address filtering...after a long period of removing and putting back in all the drivers and software and faffiong with my router i gave up......all i wanted was to be able to turn it on and off i go ....but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.i then spent the rest of the day with an ibm t40 trying to get the wifi on that to turn on...i found out in the end some obscure combo of buttons turns it on..



id hate gadgets if they werent so damm cool.

The Epson SX425W I got from Sainsburys at xmas for £45 took about 10 minutes to set up on each PC in my house. Only trouble so far was the router not assigning an address once.
The best feature is the wireless scan sever, the old all in one was shared via Windows on my PC, but obviously my PC has to be on to use it and it goes to sleep I use the Wireless scanner every week to scan expense receipts to my work laptop and it's been well worth it.
I found my mates HP wireless all-in-one harder to set up and less reliable so they do vary.

We bought a lexmark a few weeks ago, and were having all the installation problems you were Gibble...

Then I decided (after about an hour of my life wasted) to instal it online, using Lexmark's website for the software/drivers.

15minutes later I had 4 home computer/laptops up and running off of it...


Turned out the installation disc was knackered, all along.. :roll:

our epson sx215, we could never get it to go wireless wired works though but still disappointing

blasted thing cost 13 quid to post back ...why .....whhhhyyyyyyy,,,..its enough to make me scream...at least i got the laptop to work
