Starting a new build thread to keep me motivated to finish this one:

Lying somewhere in my shed is a chain/rear wheel, stem, bars and grips.

So in theory I should be able to ride it for the first time on Sunday!

Cant wait to see if the old front shock dies.

This has taken longer than I expected

I was hoping the rear wheel would fly on but just about everything was wrong with it:

Bearings all Rough
Free hub pawls dry and sticking
Valve hole so knackered that stans juice pissed out like a woman with a mesh bodge. I tried all sorts of remedies but in the end I invented my own: Hot melt glue gun - 2 days in and the tire is holding at 50psi - i guess time will tell...

Mind you I had another nightmare inflating a Jones Mud 1.8 on it - in the end I caved and brought an AIRSHOT.

My next dilema in the steerer tube - to chop or not to chop.....

I have tested this set up with the air shock completely empty and it does not foul - there is about 3mm gap - this is a speecy compset stem with about 3 offset shims - this is not the highest setting !

I will test it like this and then with another stem at the top and see if it makes any difference to front end stiffness.

I would also like to know where I can get one of these sphericals (for my other JW)- it looks like its rubber coated - and this one has no play in any direction

that rear tire is still up - so the glue gun worked out

Jobs done this weekend:

Fizik Titanio fitted
Front shock replaced with DT Swiss - which locks out rock solid - like a headshock!!

Current config = 10KG!!!! and thats with the heavy bars and pedals..
