Delete the price or item description in a for sale thread? Is it for mystery or security or tax man  ? Surely it helps the other members/site/fraternity build up a market picture.

I think people started putting 'SOLD' over prices to indicate the item was no longer available and then started deleting it full stop.

The preference now is for people to leave the price there but indicate it is sold..

Whenever I sold something I would delete the price, decsription and image so there was no confusion as to its availability.

I can see why you want to retain the price so we can see what it sells for, but 2 things come to mind 1) that may not have been the price it went for as often a near (or even far!) offer gets it 2) I personally find it a bit of a pain to read through pages and pages of descriptions of things that have sold to find the odd item that hasn't... when I do it in future I'll probably reorganise the post such that unsold items stay at the top of the post and sold items get moved to the bottom.

Quite right. Helps people to price up their items.

Only have edit the title 'SOLD' Then you wont get pm's asking is it for sale still.
Plus a good price guide to others
