Why only now........?

If you insist on cycling on the inside of cars and buses, then you have to have an escape route if a door is opened in your path or traffic moves towards the curb.

And before opening a car door you should check first it is safe to do so.

Maybe the cyclist was heading for the cycle lane, just a few yards from where he was illegally doored.

Maybe is the correct word here.

We dont know what happened so Im speculating, we cant just assume it is car occupants fault coz thats what we all want it to be ad it makes for a better story.

Is there an option to legally door someone then?  if there is, I want to know!

Yeah, cycling down the inside of vehicles, generally not a good idea, sometimes you have to learn the hard way, and it looks like the cyclist did just that.

To be fair, if you're a passenger in the back of the car it can be a bit tricky to see a cyclist coming from behind on the inside, at least in the front seat you can see in the wing mirror.

Just looks like "one of those things" to me,an accident.

He's not sitting in the back though, he's sitting in the front seat

Oh, I didn't notice, in that case.... Hopefully he learnt a lesson (at the cyclists painful expense)
