Why don't GT frames seem to crack like other alu frames?

thats exactly where mine is cracked. not all the way across though and i've had it welded up

MIne was cracked at the rear end - think it very much depended on the care or lack of during welding and heat treating

Plus Aluminium will always work harden with age and crack....

ive encountered 3 cracked gt frames, but it seems like the painted frames are the better ones to buy

my '93 Zaskar is still intact after some 50,000m + riding.

every GT i've ever owned has cracked
Except my USA built LTS Team, which I still have 13 years on

my STS many many times over,

GT frames have enough problems, without cracking adding to them.
