has anyone else noticed that Retro Bike ceases to work between 2am -2:05(GMT)
is it server issues or is it the fact that i choose to run firefox?

cheers

I find it goes between 2:02-2:03am and have put it down to TalkTalk

Restart your computer, restart your modem[ie 'pick up a new line]
Clear the cache,browsing history etc
Restart firfow
You should find this gets it back to speed

I think its either the 'fair usage' policy sneaking in if your system has been connected to the net all day,
Or its the hi volume traffic when then send the big commercial files for business and the like, that narrows the bandwidth considerably

Picking up a new line plus a clear out usually sorts it for me :D

sometimes i have to restart my modem a few times to get a faster line
I really notice because i game a lot on multiplayers,i can log on to a game and have a ping of 400 on average,at that you lose connection to the game servers, after about 10 mins, usually when youre having the best game of your life
After doing the above and picking up a new line , i find my ping has dropped to about 70
The higher the ping the more lag you get and that affects everyones game so they will kick you pretty quick, some servers automatically kick you if your ping exceeds 200

And what are you doing here at this time
Im usually here alone

I'm sure one morning the rest of us will arrive and found there's been a few changes.

If I could make a suggestion, could "General & Off Topic Chat" have Guinness on tap?

Jon is right. At 2am the site is backed up hence the short outage (although it shouldn't). Am in the process of moving to a new backup scheme which will hopefully not bring the site down for 2 or 3 mins. Perhaps I should implement some kind of reminder so Paul doesn't spend the whole night looking at old bikes.

A temporary ban between 1am and 8am each night ought to do it John, although I fear I might just end up on eBay.

or worse.
