Why do i always get damaged bikes off ebay, had enough

Re:

But i am now stuck with a visual reminder every time i go into the shed. What do i do with a bent frame that cost me £50?

Straighten it: http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html :D

I don't know why people miss-describe (is that a word? :? ) things, whenever I sell stuff I'm really honest about condition because I just cannot be bothered with all the hassle of sorting out problems with disgruntled buyers, it's just not worth it.

I must have been remarkably lucky (but then never bought anything that expensive).
I only got the hump once over a bike on ebay. It was covered in rust (50% of the paint was gone), despite getting it for only £20 I was annoyed as I would have gone much higher. Buyer played the 'What you expect for £20' line, which no doubt he'd also have done if I'd spent £100 on it.

The worst I've had was a bent rear triangle and mech hanger, on a bike I paid 100 quid too much for (due to being new to retrobikes), which I had delivered to my Mum's house and left in storage for months before I had a chance to put it all together and realise the rear wheel axle was too long to fit between the dropouts, and then find out the shift indexing was off due to the bent mech hanger. A bit of a gaff by me, and with no way to know for sure whether it was bent in the post or not, and then the realisation that the frame can just be bent back into shape at my LBS, means I chalked this one up to experience.

I bought this reynolds 753 peugeot race frame last week, confirmed with the seller by pm that is was ok, then when it arrived the stem was stuck. So i cut it out and started removing the suck bit with caustic soda from he forks.

Then, later on i noticed the drive side seat stay was bent in. So that the OLN was 9mm too slim. After a few messages back and forth to the seller, i accepted 2/3 refund. He argued that since i couldn't return it its original condition i wasn't due a refund. Fair enough i guess, you live and learn.

EDIT: I was reading page 2, your link sums it up. Gutting. Have you a local bike builder who can price up a repair?
