Why are my replies sitting in my Outbox?

I have tried to send out 3 PMs and tried to reply to 3 PMs and they are all sitting in my outbox having not been sent. Anyone else have this problem?
Any hints as to what to do?

it just means the recipient hasnt read them yet.
