Why 2 holes in my rear canti hanger?

Ok, just trying to figure out why rear hanger has two holes..one big and one small. Stop giggling.

Bike is a Klein Navigator.

The big flat hole goes in the seat post clamp.

The last one of those I saw, the little hole is for a stop screw that should rest against the frame to adjust the cable position/tension, the big hole is for the ferrule on the outer cable to seat into. Or for a threaded adjuster.

Ouch! It’s making me cringe imagining the adjuster worming away at the paint on the frame!

Mystery solved! Makes sense.
The previous owner replaced the cantis with v-brakes so just had bracket but no screws attached.
