Who should be the first on e-bay

I find that sellers often wait until the buyer's left feedback before doing so themselves. That's fine.
If the seller is quick to leave highly complimentary , effusive, feedback immediately, then it frequently means the item ain't going to be as good as promised...

Depends, I've left feedback as a seller first before.. always been selling good items unless specified.. lower price items are safer than higher price, try messaging him, sometimes people forget

How does the the buyer liking the condition of what you've shipped him affect your feedback of him? He either paid in a timely manner or he didn't, and that's all you should rate a buyer by. There are other mitigating circumstances besides item condition that would warrant bad feedback. A seller has no business giving a buyer bad feedback tit for tat because he got negative feedback for taking too long to ship, overcharged on shipping, or charging for premium and shipping surface etc.

I think the buyer should leave first-that way you know it arrived and they were happy with it.You then return feedback for all the use seller feedback is :?
I conduct my auctions this way.I await the feedback and if none appears i dont bother,i just delete it and get on with the next in line :D

I prefer it this way as it allows me to be honest about things[+i bloody am  ]
If the buyer is trying to screw some refund off you.I state in the emails that i wont be blackmailed and will leave that accusation as my feedback if they continue attempting to claim funds back. This sorts it out and they dont leave me any
None is better than bad :?

I ALWAYS send out within 2 days and still get less than 5 stars. This is down to what the buyer believes postal time should take, and has no relation to reality.
How is a post office delay the fault of the seller :?

I charge £3.00 for nearly all my postage as first class recorded costs on average £2.40 50 pence for packaging , and I still get less than full marks on my detailed seller ratings

I agree, its almost like they expect us to absorb these costs ourselves :?
Jiffy bags cost money-Bubble wrap costs money-Packaging tape costs money

Of course one needs to give the benefit of the doubt to a point, BUT......the date/cost on the postage stamp never lies.

I've paid $20+ for priority shipping, only to get a package 3 weeks later sent general delivery with a stamped price of $2.98. In that case if I make a negative feedback, I'll receive an fabricated negative feedback in return, and there's no recourse as you can't edit your feedback. That's called blackmail. An even more blatant example of blackmail is getting an email when an item's shipped a week+ after you paid for it that once you've left good feedback, they'll do so in return. The site is over-run with pikers.
Again, if you pay in a timely manner, as a buyer, you've fulfilled your part of the contract. You deserve good feedback regardless of any other circumstances that happen afterward.

I always ship within 2 days for actual postage cost unless it's a frame, where it usually takes a day or so more to get a couple of actual weight quotes. Boxes are everywhere. The grocers thank you for taking them. I stuff all the bubble wrap from incoming packages in a box for future shipping. Reuse-Recycle. And if you're factoring in a few pennies worth of tape to your shipping cost, I'm sorry, but you're skint, and I feel for you.

It is simple enough to put 5 days as the despatch time, and to mention you charge for packaging as well as the postal cost.

I usually stipulate 5-7 days for delivery, as I don't eBay for a living.

Often I find I am on a trip somewhere when payment is cleared so I cannot give next day despatch.

In actuality I usually send things out the next day, and this means people are happy they got it quicker, and for larger fragile things like amps I often opt to deliver if it works out practically, often does as I am up and down from London a few times a month.

I don't do it so I can go tit for tat. I believe I am a fair seller and will always try to sort out any issues if the buyer contacts me but people have a habit of saying nothing then leaving bad feedback. If I still have a response in the locker it should (and does) make this less likely.
