I tweaked mine - I made a 12v system using 2x 4 AA battery holders (same size as 2 'D' batteries) with a better switch and LED indicator.

1st set of those I had used to bounce out of the clamps, then they were redesigned with a catch on the clamp to stop them bouncing out.

well, I was 15, spotty, smelly and needed something to keep my mind off my/ girls genitalia.

I always used to forget to remove them before I left the bike anywhere so they got nicked.
In the end I adjusted the clamp and used some screws to make sure they weren't going anywhere. There might be some of these still in my mum's shed
