Who can tell me which model of GT this titanium frame is? I've never seen before.

It's also a much more elaborate fabrication than a Xizang and would've taken some serious commitment and expense. Intriguing!

He acquired this frame on eBay many years ago, and it made its way to him across the Pacific. Since I often deal with titanium alloy factories in China, I’m certain this isn’t a frame produced in China in recent years. Their welds these days couldn’t have flaws like the pores seen on this frame. If you look at the tube shape of its rear chainstays, you’ll notice even that detail is identical to the Zaskar’s. I’ve never seen such a meticulously copied frame, and besides, if they were going to copy something, they’d likely target the Xizang since it’s more expensive.i believe It's 100% titanium It has no paint and has been stored in the warehouse for many years without rusting, and this is definitely not the color of steel.. As for the weight, all I know is that it's very heavy—no lighter than GT's steel frames. I don't know the exact weight, though.

Where did the frame first come from , and where are you based?

Offers are best arranged through PM 😉

To be fair I don’t think it’s GT made so wouldn’t be for me (unless we can establish it is)

Even the Lynx is documented over the years and there’s only 1. So I find it hard to understand why this isn’t known if it was a GT frame.

I also struggle to think why GT would do it at the point in time the frame is from. If it was 96/97 I would say it’s maybe an attempt to see if the Zaskar could translate to Ti before the Lightning came out.

Maybe it was a welder at the time working in a factory making Ti frames who knocked it up for himself. Hence no Gt logo

And can you take pics of the details ,,, such as brake bosses , cable guides , end cap closer etc
