i just let out a big sigh when i saw this, and since you've mentioned my name i'll humour you with a response while sat up here in my ivory tower surveying all you plebs that i can hit with my mighty ban hammer
yes "members" vanish, there are many reasons, i spend a huge amount of my time (that i'm not paid for by the way) deleting spammer accounts so you don't have to wade through posts about porn, viagra and kitchen fitters, oh and goose down pillows.
other members vanish because they get bored and move on to another hobby or pastime, that's their choice not ours and they don't get banned they just stop coming on here.
other people do get banned, temporarily or permanent due to bad behavior, bad selling or just trolling, but all of those types of ban are discussed amongst the moderating team before deciding the course of action.
what i find funny though with this thread is that you have a low post count but your statement suggests you have been on the site before or have been following it for a long time, this suggests that your account is a duplicate or that you are a formally banned member who is trying to stir up a response.
so all you have succeeded in doing is marking this account out as one to be watched, for the very thing you refer to as a rule "tolling" where i assume you meant Trolling, which is when people sit on forums of any type and actively try and cause arguments and disputes, which means you could be banned or you could just "vanish" and once you're off Retrobike the Langoliers will find you and you'll vanish from the world entirely.
