I never was much of a fan, so IMO the worst bit about this news is that they're now going to start playing her songs on the radio again.

ok, I'll grab my coat ... and my mp3 player.

+1

Already tribute shows on at least 2 MTV channels!!

Sorry she's dead, but what a terrible racket she made.

RIP Whitney Houston.

I can't say I was a fan, but I did see her sing with the Harlem Gospel Choir once, and she was right up there with Lavine Hudson, who was also guesting.

Her pop music neither put me up nor down.

Unlike Aretha, who seemed to retain her integrity throughout most of her secular output.

Anyhoo, another example of having it all and finding it really isn't enough.

Something I've wondered about both Whitney Houston and Amy Whinehouse, was it inherent to them, largely inevitable, a natural predisposition - or was it the influence / effects of partners in their lives at key moments?

I just wonder, without certain individuals in their lives, whether things may have worked out differently.

And in other news -

Hours after Whitney Houston's death, Bobby Brown's been found dead in his hotel room.

He'd left a suicide note reading "Two can play that game"

I'll just get me coat

Its destiny wink.

Whitney Houston: Born 1963 - Dead
Amy Winehouse: Born 1983 - Dead
Keith Richards: Born 1943 - Alive
Ozzy Osbourne: Born 1948 - Alive
Moral of the story: Women can't handle their drugs.
