Weren't these cranks OEM? Anyone tell me what bikes / years?

There were two sorts, the original WI proper ones and the Sugino made ones that came on Marins and had tapers like Swiss cheese (although still not as bad as the OEM Curve ones on konas). Age- 1995?

Those look like the Japanese version--the back side of the arms isn't milled out.

And you can just about make out the text on the back saying 'Custom made in Japan for White Industries'

they are they jap ones, the real deal are more crisp and angular if you know what i mean
