I've moved back into a town (after living rural with smooth tarmac) and now find i'm getting alot of punctures and discomfort on my 3 road bikes (2 are running michelin pro race and the other michelin classics, 700 x 23 and 700 x 19)
I also run a retro urban mtb which is fine, but i'd like something a bit quicker, so i'm wondering if i could put cyclo cross wheels & tyres on one of my reynolds 501 road bikes - which has the 23.5" frame with new campy centaur side pull calipers, and it seems to have loads of clearance for wider wheels/tyres)
I know that a retro tourer frame is better to start for a cyclo cross build (due to wider clearance), but i'd rather not have "yet another bike" on the go if poss?
