A clean and well set-up M900 shifter works beautifully - better than the same era XT. I've tested these back to back against M095 and they're definitely better. However my latest build will use M740 due to cost!

Having recently experienced "as new" M900 shifters - I like them more now. But still prefer M739 .

I'll keep my eye out for a set of st-M900 and if some come up at a suitably low price I may get them as well to compare.
