I need to expand my horizons, but I love DiamondBacks. Cheapish, great ride, can get top spec machines for a lot less than a Zaskar

Thats because they are not as good as a Zaskar

ner...

Never had any time or love for Zaskars, or any GT come to that, RTS excepted. Always felt like they were just about the marketing, even if it meant compromising the actual bikes.

Kinda feel like I should actually try one sometime...

Anyway, teetering on the brink of a massive thread derailment so OP; what's your era (polite way of asking your age!) and what has stuck in your head from the mags you read, races you went to etc?

I probably have the most affection for bikes that I had the most racing success on, (success being relative, naturally) so that'll be Kona Explosifs of 1988, 1995 and 1997 vintage.

Although the '88 was just rigid, of course, and therefore not a hardtail, I suppose..................

Orange clockwork init :D

Almost, it's actually the Orange Prestige :D

If we're talking mid 90's it's non of 'em because they'd moved to the c16 and p7 by then :o

Wouldn't go for a mid 90'd Yo either as they moved factories and lost a little sheen for me.

TBH I've no idea what my favourite mid 90's bike is :?

If I had to make such a subjective irrational designation the answer would be the Jamis Dragon.

Guess what?

It is same answer I would give for the 2004 one I am riding around on now too!

:)
