Which is the best mid nienties hard tail mountain bike?

Mine's an Ibis Alibi, and it is genuinely sublime, I adore it. But you're asking such an impossible question I fear you're not really going to get any sensible answers :?

If you're looking for a new bike for yourself then we need to know about your riding terrain and style etc etc etc

The beauty of RB is that in many cases you can seek out your dream bike and have it for a very reasonable sum. And if you don't get on with it you won't lose much selling it on again 8)

So what's your dream bike?

Thanks, I guess the answer is at the mo its the IFT but thinking I should try something else. So maybe that dream bike is still undiscovered!

Im not hardcore off road but I like to have a bit of old quality under me (if you will pardon the expression!). Light and strong with top notch running gear! (hmmm guess thats what everyone wants, lo)l.

Ive also got an old 90s immaculate pinarello monviso so the road work is sorted. Definitely prefer hardtail.

A lot depends on what for...

Marins always felt a bit big and unwieldy to me on twisty stuff. However those exact same qualities make it a brilliant bike for long distances as it is undemanding when you feel shattered. So I have one which I use as a tourer.

Few people would choose the IFT as the best mid 90's MTB, mainly because they are a Marin, the bikes the older people like 'your old man' BitD would by as recommended by the bike shop.
Also it's Aluminium which doesn't help even with it's CNC bridges.

There are many brands to venture in to, just have a look and ty one that looks nice or you always felt you would like.

Of course Mine are the best assuming 1991 can be classed as mid-90's
the 1997 one is not so good, but only because it has Kona stuck on the side and the 1993 one is just a frame so not such a good rider.
