Which Chain?

I need a couple 8 speed chains for my commuter and my wifes bike. What is the general consensus on a good buy these days? should I just pick up a pair of HG50s or would SRAM or a cheepie be worth a look?

Not loking to break the bank. These are basic bikes.

I use KMC 10 and 9 speed chains and am very happy with them.

I've bought some cheap 7/8 srams off ebay in the past year.

picked up a pair of SRAM PC850s on the way home. Was sold on the power-link in the end.

Pretty sure kmc come with a snap connector these days too, but you've bought a decent chain nonetheless.

If it's for something that isn't special, and you don't mind killing off local businesses, Asda sells 8 speed chains for £2.99.

Only ever had woe from SRAM chains (yet swore by them when they were Sachs/Sedis)- wouldn't touch one with a bargepole, only running one on the Pace until it gets binned. Can't beat Dura Ace chains at all ever, but don't use pins use a KMC or Sram powerlink thingy instead.

I use Shimano 8speed(good for 7speed too) IG70/90 with Sram links, never had a problem.If you have to make a join, apart from the Sram link,use the connecting pin supplied :!:
