Hello all, Hope someone out there can help. I've been given an old Carlton and was looking to bring it back to life ( been in my old mans garage for 30+years). I'm new to road bikes as most of the time I'm touring on an hybrid, was thinking this Carlton would be a change.... My Dad got this some time in the 60's and thinks it was a Flyer(?). But its been repainted so no decals are left :-(.
Its wheel is set up for fixie or 5 speed. Its frame number is N3107. See photos of Lugs and badge attached. The forks appear half chromed. Most of the components appear original along with a battered brooks saddle. I'd like to get this back to somewhere near original trim, so if anyone out there can help me confirm what I've got in terms of year/ model / original colour it would be a massive help!!
