Which bit of a bike excites you the most and which the least

Mmmm spendy spendy lotsa money
Forks
Stem/Post
Mechs
Cranks

Just as long as it does the job...
Headset (maybe if I splashed out for a CK or something I'd appreciate it...)
BB (guess the boggo sealed ones work too well for their own good!)
Cassette & chain (too disposable to pimp!)

I like rear mechs especially those from the 70's early 80's such as suntour or shimano. All chrome/polished, etched/stamped with logos and patterns and beautifully engineered. Especially like those ones where one of the side plates has been interrupted so that you can remove the chain without splitting it  :D

Coolest components are the ones that provide the view when on the bike...headset, stem, bar, shifters, levers, grips. Nothing worse than looking down at your controls and seeing tatty crap! :D

Pics like these tell a lot about a bike and the rider... I already know what riding is all about, and with photos like these, from this vantage point, I get to imagine what its like to ride a certain bike set-up other than my own. Now I get to daydream about riding my own bikes AND yours! I also think folks who consider this pic vantage point important are thinking about the importance of the view from the cockpit and the feel of the cockpit too, and to me that shows a more introverted perspective on biking than just taking the ubiquitous drivetrain shot. This is the riders perspective. Othe shots are just museum stills.

These picks were shamelessly ganked from this site... I think the black Klein is Carsten's and I'm not sure about the other two, but if they're yours, by all means take credit! :D

And if you haven't already, start posting pics from this perspective so I can daydream more and do even less work at the office...

+1 been looking at some of them, very noice.

Most = Shiny Drive train, will always make sure my rides have top notch cassettes & chains, Love them clean and shining 8)

Least = Inner tubes

Hey

I like to stroke my stem quite a lot!!!

Fav- Frame, its the heart of the bike after all.

Least- BB, you dont see it and they dont look all shiny like the other parts.

as far as i am concerned the best bits are the cranks and frame. they are the main visual focal points (for me anyway). i love riding a new set of grips which turn out to be lovely and comfortable too

Most: wheels and frame, in that order. There's something about a standard three cross wheel with shiny spokes and a nice rim which just looks so right to me.

Least: seatpost and bottom bracket. As has been said already you don't see the BB and I find seatposts just so boring!
