Trying to justify something here.....

Already I have a bike collection growing by the week but one frame I wanted to build is starting to make me think, Its the Sintesi Bazooka its the 2nd frame I purchased and has sat waiting for the right bits since. Now some forks have popped up that look idea I could actually get things going ... But .... realistically what am I going to use it for now? I am older ..slower .. quite honestly looking at leckhampton d/h tracks too shit scared or much wiser to try it with a pee pot hat on ...Its going to be too heavy to try and do trails with Id thought... So where does that leave me other than in my eyes a cool bike that I wanted when I was younger?? :D

Anyone else think about these sorts of things? :?

The line of .... Money/time against actually how much its going to be used ??

If you can afford it go for it. Say you don't use it often, you won't loose too much if your canny. Maybe the downhill market will be the next big thing, but you shouldn't do it for profit, its the bike you always wanted. I justify my own stuff because I don't spend as much as I used too on other things and all my bikes(8) have a role, albeit a bit tenuous. One day I'll build a San An or a Merlin for no practical reason.

just realised I was pm'ing you and replying to this at the same time.

If it was a bike you wanted BITD i'd say just go for it, i knew when i bought my LTS DH that i'd never have the bottle or the bike handling skills to do it justice but it has'nt stopped me riding and loving it for the last 8 years, the most radical thing it's seen in that time is a flight of stairs  , and when you say too heavy for trails my LTS is probably the thick end of 30LB but manage fine with it.

I'm building the Mongoose AMP which would make a fantastic light full suss XC flying machine but have no intention of ever getting a spec of dirt on it
