Due to not being able to control my 'buy' finger, I've ended up with 6 bikes in my flat at the moment!
I've sold my Fisher, but not yet shipped it, and agreed to sell my Alpinestars to a mate.
This will get me back down to a still excessive head-count of 4 (well, 5 once I collect my Reflex frommy Girlfriends at the weekend  ), but I still couldn't resist going to look when my mates boss said he had an old clockwork and a GT in his garage.
I had visions of a mint 1990 clockwork with gleaming orange and white paint.
What I found was a battered old frame, with a stuck seatpost and bent seat post clamp!
I know that I dont really want or need this bike, but I know that I'm going to end up having it off him just to save it from the skip.

Are retro bikes addictive??

There's no limit, just a forever expanding challenge to your ability to store and display them without being accused of being a hoarder and winding up on an A&E reality TV show!

For example, I have too many bike frames (9) some built and some not. In order to reduce my own stress about being overcrowded in the shop, and to keep from feeling like I've got some growing psycological condition in need of chemical treatment, I've decided to remove 2 frames from the shop collection....

...so I'm going to display the Zaskar and Avalanche on the wall in my office! :D

See?! Problem SOLVED!

sounds like you nee some help with the clockwork  opps there i go again. ive just decided on the 2 mabey 3 i want to keep and sell the rest but i just cant help "having a little look to see whats out there" i think women call it window shopping.

I can sympathise with you m8 :(

I just wanted a set of C2s on my bike.Yes i have C2's now but i seem to have also picked up a couple more sets and a whole load of 1/2 callipers, shims bolts and pads

 STOP BUYING

oh god, i have the same problem. i only have 5 (including the two i bought this week, lol) but im constantly on the lookout for more interesting frames, regardless of size. I bought one that was too large in hopes that ill go through some miraculous growth spurt and shoot up a couple inches (im 25 so i dont really see that happening) and i decided that since i wanted one bike and could only find it in 14" i would use it if i brought a girl riding, and at least that would somewhat justify it. So now i have a range of sizes that doesnt even fit me just cause i wanted those particular models :?

isnt there a mathmatical formula for working out how many bikes, one needs, i think it is :-

total amount=n+1

where n is the current amount of bikes you have already.

It is good for the soul to yield to bike related temptation. Not so god for finances, living space and relationships though.

Hang on, just spotted a tidy Mercian.....

i have 5 rideable bikes and 6 builds on the go just now..... sounds to me that you just need to sort out better storage
