When M900 isn't enough

The shop I raced for had a Special Edition 100th Anniversary Bianchi w. gold plated C-Record hanging in their window. in 1985. I SO wanted it, but the price was bouncing off the rev limiter.

"regular" 100th w. Bianchi pantographed parts + C-Record. The frame was black chrome (black clear over chrome) w. celeste graphics. the finish was lustrous.

Are the ball bearings gold- who remembers that grease from 90's called black gold.
It was ultra thick and serious stuff!

They did a chain lube aswell iirc.

I've still got some... nearly finished the thick green stuff off (re-lubing pedals) and finished the spray on stuff that foamed up (very sticky) re-lubing shifters. Love it.

And in terms of the original question - I'd have to agree 100% with fluffychicken. Quality of finish on the gold looks very ropey. If anything I'd say it de-values the stuff looks like half of it would rub off while you were fitting it. Probably OK for a display bike, from a distance but that's about it.

I'm picking this up and throwing it on a black frame.

I put it down from the whip to my diamonds
I'm in black and yellow, black and yellow...
