Having just discovered the awsome for sale section on this forum, it is clear that there are some bargins to be had!!

So - I have been wondering how easy it is to build wheels? Is it realtivly easy? or do I need some sort of jig and alot of practice / patience?

BITD building wheels was like rocket science to me. after reading a lot about it on the net (esp. sheldon browns article on building wheels) i gave it a try and it worked out quite well. some tips from my side:
1.) buy a decent spoke wrench and wheel truing stand
2.) watch the youtube video on how to build wheels

3.) read the whole sheldon brown article
4.) use the spoke length calculator on the dt-swiss homepage

p.s.
watch out for there are different spoke nipple sizes. 2,0mm is afaik the most common size but i recently realized one of my wheels uses 1,8mm
p.p.s.
spoke tension is important!

it may be relatively easy to build a wheel that looks right but it takes a bit more experience to build a wheel that is reliable. so if you only need one wheel set which you want to ride it certainly should not be the first one you have built yourself. and also not the second ;)
