Wheel building Q's

I'm going to have a go at building up a set of wheels & was wondering if I need/should have a gauge to measure the spoke tension & where can I get one from. I quiet fancy a set of anno spoke nipples for a bit of purple shineyness but was wondering if there is any real probs useing them ? This set of wheels will be mainly my road set & was also wondering if I will have to use the same make rear hub or can I use any 7 speed rear hub :?

Tap each spoke with an Allen key as you approach final tension, any overstressed spoke will ring with a higher pitched note than others...... Go at each spoke half a turn at a time and use common sense and things should go well, it's a rewarding thing to complete!.....don't forget to balance vertical and horizontal movement in the rim as you true it, especially if it's for rim braking.......ano nipples can get scratched with a spoke key if you get too forceful.......any hub will do so long as it's width suits and you don't mind a mismatch..........good luck!.....

I only play on the PS when I go upto bed hmm wonder if the wife will mind me having a wheel jig on the bed
