Hi guys and girls, im looking for a wheel builder, either pro or private to sort some wheels for me.

I have a couple of sets that need very slight tweeks to get perfectly tru.

I also have some hubs/rims that I would like building up and swapping round.

Im in Aldershot, hampshire but willing to travel a bit and pay cash or trade some bits.

Any help greatly appreciated 8)

Always found Berkshire Cycles in Crowthorne great for tweaks (dishing, truing and tensioning), not sure what they are like for building though. They are cheap for tweaks (usually £5) and turn them around in a couple of hours.

Carl.

Nirvana Cycles in Westcott, nr Dorking, and Beyond Mountain Bikes in Cranleigh are both good.
There's a new shop in Farnham just opened; Hoops Velo, on the corner by LIDL. No idea what they're like though...

Cheers mate, will get prices from them.

Beyond mountain bikes, used to be my place for all things awesome back in the day, went in there a few weeks back and its a shame the staff were so unhelpfull :( I think the response was "eh, bikes have moved on somewhat these days"

That's a shame, and not my experience at all. I've spent many a while rummaging around the boxes under the workshop counter, looking for obscure parts amongst the obsolete stuff they never threw away.
Stock control isn't their forte and I'd wager there's a treasure trove amongst their piles of stuff.

That's exactly what I thought, wasn't the reply I was expecting when I mentioned I still had a frame I purchased from them in 96/7, thought they might have shown a bit more interest.

The thing is im sure there is some treasure hidden there, its just finding it, but from what I remember from quite a few years back when it closed for a bit (tax issues I think??) a lot of stuff went from the shop.

Maybe I got the staff on a down day :|

PM Peterpoddy on here, he's my brother and a great wheelbuilder - he's a bike shop mechanic (now a workshop manager) and may be able to help you. He is sensitive to retro stuff too!
