What's the used vintage bike market like where you live?

One of my former colleagues used to work for a large, famous London bike shop that sent a van to France, hoover up the bikes at €10 each, buff them up and sell on to gullible londoners at £300, without mentioning the wierdy-beardy bb and headset threads or seatpost size
