I am looking for a 20" Kona frame with project 2 rigid forks and then build it up with parts off on ebay, but first I need to find the frame in 2008, it's pretty hard to get one as Kona are popular.

I may have a 19.25" 1991 Lava Dome available with P2's if I think it is too small for me (jury's out currently as I am still awaiting parts to build it up).

my GF's explosif should be back from argos in the new year, got a whole heap of red stuff to go on there - im quite jealous!
gonna switch my xizang back to m950 xtr over the winter instead of singlespeed, and then start hunting bits for the Spooky project x... :D

More riding, less building...

Unfinished business with the RTS; FRO; 94 FSR, Alien SP and Haro Ti... as everything else is pretty much done bar riding/fettling - I reckon that's 5 builds this year, with 2 complete re-paints .

Now I want to get some value out of all the 07 builds by riding much, much more than 07, so really don't want to 'acquire' another frameset to distract from riding - I'll probably have to cut my internet connection....

I'm going to be looking to swap my 17" Bontrager frame for a 19"... using the same gear, tis a bit small for me much to my disappointment. I'd love to build up a Hot or something but I doubt I'll be allowed...

This picture has been taken about..1992?
I have bought this new from to shop, my first real MTB.
I still have it, all original parts! Now only cleaning and polishing it.

I have a project planned for 08.

Sunn exact disc, Hope C2s,American classic wheels,Various other bits.

But i am going for a 10 by 1 geared set up.

Dont know the full story as yet, its a colabaration between myself and John Morse and my friend and long time wheel builder Ian Warren of the cycle centre in Penzance. We have put together dozens of bikes over the past years and i think this will be a real good performer.

But then again it may be rubbish, who knows.

Cheers,Al

Got the Funk to build up when the frame arrives to keep me busy for January.

Feb will be house moving so that will bugger up any bike tomfoolery.

March will be the start of the new rallying season and I have to get me and car into shape.

Extension on house planned in april- will drag into june.

Le mans 24 hr in june, the classic in july( Alfa needs repaint before it hits the road again- never mind the 1500mile round trip!)

So it looks like the beginning of August before I'll get started on a new build. Fancy a steel frame. Circa 1989-90, full XT groupo. Nice plain and simple black or silver finishing kit. Or maybe a Pace, or a Klein Adroit, or a Sling, or whatabout a Kirk- not many of those on here.............

Then it'll rain all September and October.

Then its too dark.

Not going to be a classic bike year :?
