Hi guys,

Just wondering what everyone is up to in 2008 as regard building projects ?, my other bikes are getting lonely and they are fed up with each others company so I feel I need to introduce them to some new friends...

My 2008 projects as follows :

Principia MSL ... needs respray, cant decide on colour ?
Ibis Mojo ... Either Mix of XT or Campag
Proflex 856 ... ??? not sure about this one...
Vitus 979 ... Campag Record, with deltas...

On the wish list... for 2008/9

Orange Formula...
Ritchey P21

Leaving the mrs and finding a new house to live , well at least thats what shes said,if I bring anymore bikes in, christmas will distract her for a while, just need to slip the ibis in the workshop and tell her 'Cant remember I had this'

in what way are you not sure? Don't like the frame or not sure what parts to strap on?

I'm building up the Kona Lava Dome I was donated, but am a bit worried it might be too small.

I've also got an '04 Gary Fisher Marlin frame coming in so may do something with that as a hack.

The proflex , I think it may have a hairline crack in the weld near the headtube, and really not sure if I want to build it or not, until I find out for def.. the previous owner tells me its been like it for years... and its not a hairline fracture... so need to investigate first..

'95 FSR, XTR and DuraAce, USE, S-works Ti, X-lite, Flite, Avid Tri-Align, Judy FSX, etc.

Kind of started, but will be more of a 2008 project really.
 
I am looking for a 20" Kona frame with project 2 rigid forks and then build it up with parts off on ebay, but first I need to find the frame in 2008, it's pretty hard to get one as Kona are popular.
 
Hmm... Well, I'll be starting with my S-Bike 929 DH. I received the frame back last thursday and they placed a complete new bracket "sleeve" in the BB shell so I can put in a new BB. And it'll be repainted in the next weeks somewhere. Already have a Manitou EFC to put in, only need to find a 1,1/4" A-headset and stem. Then the rest of the parts (1994 XT 737). Will be taking some off my S-works and replace them on that one (like the 737 crank, will replace it with a Strongarm)

Also I think I'll be finishing my KLEIN Rascal in 2008. Was planning on selling it, since I have my Attitude now. But I just can't ;-) So I'll have it repainted and finished in 2008 as well.

And I'll defenately finish my Stumpjumper FS as well, since I only need a rear hub (M732 XT 7-speed). Just bloody hard to find one, but I'll get one next year and then it's finished! :-)

That's about it I think... was thinking about getting me a GT Zaskar. But I think I'll be found dead somewhere in a ditch after my gf hears about it :-D

My first task for next year will be to finish building up my Dave Yates :D

I've also managed to find my current holy grail, a Hope Ti front hub with red flanges to match my rear Ti-Glide, it's even built up on the same rim type!

It would be nice to find another project frame next year but I'd settle for fine tuning (and riding) the bikes I already have......
