What year did Shimano stop producing Deore DX?

I've got a 1995 frame coming and a bin load of DX just sitting about.
I'm thinking of combining the 2 as the frame is 1" steerer and older in appearance than 95.
Opinions greatfully recieved

Deore DX last appeared in 1993. It's one of my favourite groupsets both in terms of function, appearance and durability.
It wouldn't be period correct on a 1995 frame, not that that should necessarily stop you using it.

.

I'm pondering hanging it all on the KHS frame that Charlieboy has/had in his recent for sale thread.
He says its '95 and i've no reason to doubt him, its just looks older in shape/appearance so i'm hoping i'll get away with it.
Older type 1" quill stem, canti hanger on the back etc, I was hoping it turned out to be a 93 but I don't think so

i doubt if anyone will know
especially if you dont tell them

i like dx stuff too apart from the early rf units its tough stuff too

thought
if its a 95 that means that it was maybee built in 94 so your only a year out

Or even a late 93 :D and DX would have still been in the shops in 94 and possbly 95 :D

I hated DX, I always found it a very 'soft metal' groupset and prone to bending and snapping, soon moved to XT and it was tougher, then went to XTR and found it much harder to break or bend... so much I'm still using most of it ;)
Talking chainset, rear mech as the most useless. The hubs on the other hand are good as.

Though a lot of my mates loved it if they couldn't quite get to XT, still they killed it off quite quickly.

Mind I would use now as I don't ride quite like I used to

Stick it on, it does look nice and as long as it works then then no one is going to know.

use it, who cares about the correct year for the group/frame mix, if it works for you, then its all gravy. Saves on having to sell it all and then sponsor a whole new groupset in XT, lets be honest there probably ain't alot in them.

But if you do decide to sell it i would be keen on the rear mech :D
