What would your 'retro-mod' bike be like?

I actually had my modern-retro dream bike build as many of you know :D .... this is what it is.....
Just have to let you guys know the Rohloff hub is just the best "modern" part ever IMHO

Retro-mod...that depends on your definition, but personally I'm with Tintin on this one......old skool bike, rigid perhaps, keep the old bars stems etc and bang on some modern 9sp xtr for function, obviously using v-brakes, as discs just shout modern to me!!

Thanks jango. Don't forget Maguras brakes. agree forget discs

My modern bike would be a mid to late 90s steel Orange frame & fork with disk mounts fitted and all modern kit, prob XT and Hope.

That way I'd have a modern bike that fit the way I like, rode 'proper' but was relyable and stopped. 8)

Mines like this ( could still be classed as retro though )

Agreed. Thomson where definitely about in '97 - they came with some Kliens IIRC.

But should they be silver? Apart from the whole anodizing thing I seem to remember bars stem and seatpost being silver in the main. Black seems more modern.

Good call - I have amended my original post.

I'm all over this retro-modern lark like a rash.

My 95% finished alpinestars cro-mega XT:
