What suitable tyres on mavic monthlery pro rims

I need some tyres for an old bike that i would like to display.

What tyres suit? They are tubless rims.

By tubeless I guess you mean tubular (tubs)

From that era I guess you are after tan wall ? Cheap and cheerful Victoria Rallye might fit the bill.

Its tubular tyres that you need. And they have tubes inside. Good luck with getting them onto the rim when they are new! That will literally drive you to tears... So as they are just for display you could save yourself a world of bother by getting some that are used.

The cheap Vittoria tubs look the part.

Use double sided tub tape.
Fit the tape to the rim, peel back a couple of inches of the backing tape from the outer surface, at the valve.
Leave it sticking to one side a little.

Lightly inflate the tyre, fit valve, roll tyre onto the rim.
Centralise the tyre, then gently pull the backing tape round the wheel causing the tyre to stick in the correct place.
It's satisfying.

There was thread on here that was my one and only ‘sticky’. It was about surviving with tubular tyres but it suddenly disappeared and hasn’t been seen since. Dunno where it went?
It is possible to use them day to day and a few here do. Tan walls are probably key. And a tin of Pit Stop.

If just for show then no glue needed. If you are riding then Tufo tape, two pencils and you tube .

28mm Corsa Control on Monthlery Pro


I use Velox Jantex Competition 76 tape, it's on Amazon but you often get it cheaper elsewhere.
I leave a 2" gap opposite the valve to make getting it off easier.

If it's display only you could get away with Rally and just inflate them - no glue.
