What Sort of Rim is This?

Clincher? Tubular? If the former, where are the hook that hold the tyre in place?



Ignore the cat, he just likes to be involved. Size is 27 x 1 1/4. It is nothing like the tubular rims I have seen so this brings me back to some sort of clincher? I know what would be clinching every time I had to corner on it!

Looks like good old High Pressure in old coinage. Is it Weinmann ?

I have a set of wheels with hookless rims like that. I was told its best to use wirebead tyres.

You can use beaded clincher tyres of the correct size but at reduced pressure iirc

certainly appears to be a Weinmann wired-on rim such as the #256



good to see that the local spoke tension inspector be on duty

It indeed a Weinmann. It mentions 17 on the rim which matches the above dimension.
