One of the civilian contractors at my work rides one of these fully restored

It's a Solex powered bicycle chain drive via pedals on rear then when you need it start front engine which is only about 5Bhp lower onto front wheel and power assist, some had a belt/chain drive to the front hub. Will find out more Monday when I see him next if you want?

That'll be a Velosolex...which buzzed it's way around many a French town post-war...not usually with such a distracting rider though

i love those pedal mopeds! saw one in Italy the first time i went (think i was 12) immediately wanted one.
i want this too, but i don't have my own garage to hide such secretive projects!

EDIT: whats that drum sitting below the engine on the side of the front wheel?
