Ok guys so what I am loking for is a bottom bracket that uses sealed cartridge bearings, where the cups are hold on by an external lockring.

Does anyone know of a company that does or did make these?

I am familiar with the TNT Ultimate one, and the S-Works Direct Drive (basically the same one).

Ideally I just want one of the cups to fit a bb I already have, but will consider buying a new bb.

Royce for sure, and they'll probably sell you just the cup and lockring.

Some but not all Specialités TA AXIX. TA are also pretty good with spares, so you might be able to get just the parts you need.

However, re-reading your other post, if I understand correctly you currently have two left-side cups. That being the case, you should be able to use a flanged (fixed) cup on the right and set the preload using just the left-side lockring. You won't get chainline adjustment, but maybe you don't need it.

In a pinch, the fixed cup from an old Shimano UN70,71,72,90,91 etc. might work. They have the right internal diameter for a 30mm bearing. To get one off the cartridge, run boiling water over the flange (this softens the locktite and expands the press-fit) then quickly, while it's still hot, support the flange in a vice or in the bike frame and tap the end of the axle sharply with a rubbber mallet.
