What Klein did I buy?

Riemanello

Retro Newbie
Hello this my first post here.
I recently bought this Klein from a friend who had it since 1996. It was bought in Montana U.S and sold on to him in Copenhagen, Denmark in the mid-nineties.

I will now try to restore it and ride it in the forest. The tricky thing for me is the fork, it's dead and I can see that it's threaded and possibly a 1" steerer so probably hard to find a replacement.

Question 1: What model is it and what year?

Question 2: Can I make the fork work again or can I find a rigid fork that fits 60mm travel?

Thank you!

Thank you. Its nice to know more about it. My friend thought it was a 1995 but with quill stem it might be older I thought.

Yes, this is a 1994 Pinnacle with a lovely MC1-Stem-Bar-Unit. :D

I would get rid of the Rockshox and look for a 1inch threaded steel fork. Spinner (which was the original fork) or - if you want it lighter - Ritchey or Marin. Then try to get the fork painted to match.

I would also remove the yellow parts. Green, silver and black looks great!

For easier reference here is the pic from the 1994 catalogue:
