As much as I am bored by the "is this a zaskar" threads, I'm wondering what the hell this is ?

"THIS WAS SOLD AS A GT FRAME 2 WEEKS AGO, BUT THE GUY RETURNED IT SAYING IT WASN'T

A GENUINE GT FRAME SO IS NOW BEING SOLD AS A GT LOOKY LIKEY FRAME."

its a GT frame surely, cant be too hard to identify, looks like a flat end cap, cable routing is unusual and has modern disc tabs,,ask GM

seller says its not a GT and there are no numbers stamped into the frame anywhere? didnt know there are GT clones out there :?

Wouldn't think it would be worth making a 'fake GT' from scratch
given the number of used frames about.

I've looked at this before and none the wiser. Anyone know of any
GTs from say the last 10 years which were bright green. Since I
don't think that many people would bothered to respray that's
where I'd start. Not convinced end cap is that flat.

Alternatively has anyone thought of a GT Chucker.
Flat cap/ally/disk mounts/green?... the frame must be quite
a small size so could be a jump-bike.

no sure if it's a zaskar but i'd give a tenner for it
looks a small frame and looks zaskar ish ,not seen the slant endcap
like that before ,the dropouts are 2000 ish gt

forks would be worth 15/20 quid

Some people just don't help themselves!

I asked:
"I am very tempted by this but am wondering if you can answer a few questions for me.
What do all of the stickers say? There seems to be something on the seat stay but I cannot make out in the photo what it says.
Does it have a serial number? (either under the bottom bracket shell or on the drop outs.
Does it have 'GT' stamped in to the end of the top tube? Is the end of the top tube flat or rounded?
Some more close up photos would be appreciated."

And got the reply:
" The frame decals say Zaskar GT. This is not a GT frame. As it says in the wording this is a GT lookalike, but it isn't. All the other parts that are mentioned are genuine. So the bike is sold as seen as a GT lookylikey with no reserve. There is no return for this bike frame."

If the seller cannot be bothered to have a look at the thing and answer a couple of simple questions then I cannot be bothered to bid!

Ok, it has a flat cap but its angled from the tube, so not a Zaskar if you ask me.
There are some GT clones around. A few months ago there was a non GT Xizang on German Ebay so why not.

my money is on its a GT, the cable routing is the same as a chucker too, did they have a pre chucker jump bike :? :?

howdo all, first post so go easy on me :) .i contacted the woman selling it as well but got no info from her at all,but looking through her feedback she has sold quite a few job lots of mountain bikes and a fair few low value bikes which would suggest to me that she's been going to the police auctions and shipping them straight onto ebay - she says she knows knack all about bikes but she sells enough of them.i'm tempted to have a punt at it but i've no idea what it is :?
