What is this? Doing my head in. 1987 Shogun?

I've been pondering this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/shimano-mount ... SwFqJWh~DG

Looks most like a Shogun praire breaker 1988/7, but the components don't match up (they were shimano not suntour equipped).

The reason I think shogun is because they were triple triangle, and the top of the seat tube reinforcement, and the ends of the seat stays look like the PB. The 87/88 PB had a chain stay u brake.

However the bike looks to be pink under the respray (not PB colours), and has low end Suntour gears (pressed steel front mech / thumb mounts). Also has bolted axle wheels.

Maybe they did a lower end bike under the PB? Can't find any images of a 87/88 trail or ground breaker, not sure they did them.

I would date it to 87/88 by the suntour components.

Although its a bit manky (respray needs rubbing off) it looks to have hardly been used (spoke reflectors, tyres). It seems to be pretty low end and probably not worth £20, but early Shogun PBs were very nice Tange Japan made frames, and this could be one of them

Anyone any idea? I'm usually pretty good at this....

Now gambling its an Apollo, maybe a year earlier than this one:

They apparently came with suntour gearing and some had u brakes under the chain stay.

Also the stem looks the same and the seat would match.
