What is it with dogs

I would disagree. We have four dogs. All similar upbringing since we’ve had them. One is wired differently. Just like some children. First up. First to react. Hyper vigilant. But wonderfully demonstrative and loving of his pack.

Exactly. Just like people and all animals, they have their own personalities. Owners have a huge part to play in training their dogs to be under control in ALL situations but its well documented that certain triggers can bring out their instincts. So many cases of family dogs attacking their owners and related kids and some breeds were originally bred to fight or hunt at a ‘specialist’ level. I was always taught to read dogs body language from an early age etc but they can do the unpredictable - fact.

My Irish relations have been breeding red setters for over a century and I spent a lot of time with them as a kid so i have seen plenty of examples of dog behaviour. Love setters btw.

My kid keeps hastling me to buy her a Pom and it never helps when her mates turn up a school with a new puppy every week
