What hi fi system you got ?

LP12 - Sima 2001 preamp - Sima 2050 amp (Canada's version of Naim, a tad brighter) - Linn KANs. Purchased in 1986. LP12 needs to go in for the ubiquitous CAPs replaced.

Hey let me know if ya need the LP12 tuned up... I got a 'guy' he's a Maytag/Whirlpool repair man.. he's got a great set of tools...

i have a naim atom (i used to work for them so i didn’t pay full price), and some oldis tannoy speakers (honky but nice imaging).

i am planning to get some kef r3s when i get my arse in gear.

all very wife friendly.

have to agree with the comments above about treating rooms. well worth it, though i would suggest a proper microphone and computer so you can visualise your changes. it makes it easy to try stuff with a duvet or two and see what works in your room.

I have a matching set of AKAI seperates and speakers that I got from a charity shop for £20. The belts need replacing in the cassette deck, I'm kind of scared to start taking it apart but I'd rather get it working than replace it with something that doesn't match.

This is my current setup;
Carver model 6200 magnetic field power amplifier. I think it's 120 or 160 watts. My winter project is recapping this amp.
Pioneer pl-640 w/ a moving magnet cartridge.
Bsr spatial enhancer for movie's
Vhs and Blu-ray player's
All going to a set of Infinity QB speakers with the epic EMIT Tweeter's. I've got a set of caps coming in the mail to redo the crossovers in these. They work great but at 50 years old the caps are ready to be replaced.

I also have a re-capped silver face Pioneer SX-750 and some type of pioneer silver face AM/FM head in storage. Plus a little 25watt low-end silver face pioneer receiver and matching paper coned speakers of some type in my drum/guitar/bass dungeon and a couple more record players floating around.

I've been collecting gear from junk/thrift stores for decades and have played around with tons and tons of silver face era amps and receivers and older Kabuki speakers.
