what have i just bought ? breezer content ;)

 theres no hole in the frame for a hanger (you know the ones that use the hole for the reflector?) and the seatclamp faces the wrong way so i think i'm stuffed

I think there's no doubt that this is a 1997 Storm, size 17. It came originally with a fairly cheap specification of STX 7-speed with LX rm, Impel 350 cranks and cheap V-brakes. No bikes had cantis by 97, certainly not a high-end maker like Breezer, so that's why it isn't set up for them.

Surely the thing to do is repair the paint, give it up-graded 97ish kit and find the right fork. If you're on the larger side, the fact that a 98 SID would be the right colour may not be quite enough. They made both Z2s and Z3 Lights in blue in 98 (I have two actually) and that might be the best fork for you from around that period. Although there's no doubt that Rockshox was the chosen suspension for Breezer and a blue and white 97 Judy XC with replacement steel springs would look great on it and ride nicely too.

Let's face it, it's a classy bike and you're either going to enjoy riding it, or if it proves to be too small for you you're going to want to get into the kind of shape where you could sell it for a profit, which you ought to be able to do quite easily I'd have thought.

It's a great find anyway. I doubt whether there's all that many in the UK.

I think ALL of Eck's bikes are 17.5"

That will be nice with some solid forks on it mate,

Does it have a hanger for the canti cable on the rear? hard to see in the pics.

Gc

no canti hanger on the rear im affraid :( and no way of fitting one so the canti's are back off...

I have seen on some bikes ( like halfords special brand's) a canti cable hanger that attatches to the seat pin, never seen one on here though, its just too 'working' class for these lads

Gc
Yeah, I don't think Breezers had a canti hanger -my 92 Storm came with a cheap chromed job held on by the (rear facing) seat bolt.
