What frame tubing could this be?

Lol, no. I did have a girlfriend dump me for another girl though.

I'd assumed that the frame was originally built by Fleet, then someone else painted it and had the decals made. This seemed to be the case after it arrived as well judging by the respray quality! The fades are good but there are paint runs and it has been not stripped of the old paint very well as you can see it underneath!

I fogot to mention the point I was getting at.
If Fleet (company) has painted the bike why would they have done a poor job then put their name on it.

Either way, I quite like.

It was common for small independent bike shops to have a race team with a few of their 'own' bikes - resprayed existing bikes or otherwise

I knew that paint colour was familiar! That ended up as my frame and fork.

You'll either have to bodge something, by using elastomers from another fork, or better buy some rockshoxs or manitou from that era. Probably the forks were approx 60mm travel so anything up to 80mm shouldn't upset the handling. Luckily the forks are not threaded and use straight 1 1/8 steerer. BITD I swapped forks for some 80mm Jetts which were a vast improvement (and the Jetts were pretty crap but at least they hadn't seized solid like the ballistics)

I had thought of buying this bike myself when it was on ebay - but i think 7 bikes is enough.

Re:

It isn't tange infinity tubing sadly, just a standard cromo tange tube as the spec suggests, at least you have identified the bike and the fork too.

After seeing better pics of paint it looks like a previous owner has has a go with a tin, then gone to the local shop for the decals,

The forks have more play in the bushes than every other fork I've ever owned combined. So I'll give up on them.
I have some silver bombers that should look ok on it, possibly get Gil to make some decals in red to match the frame.

The respray has nice fades but isn't the best. The Fleet logos are painted on, very well.
