You can't find that bike part you put away especially so it wouldn't get lost?

I finally got some integrated brakelever/shifters for my road bike and was all set to fit them when the downtube cable guides that I've been carefully keeping for 3 months are nowhere to be seen.

After 2 hours turning the place inside out I'm fuming!

Some of you guys must have been in this situation - what do you do to unwind? I wonder if a bike ever drove anyone to alcholism....

I usually get the chainsaw out and cut up everything in sight until i feel sufficiently stupid

Then have a beer :D

Ask the wife if shes seen it in a manner that your suggesting that it was her that lost it, this will take the blame away from you. You can then rise above it and be magnanimous about it.

Like Kaiser said.
Alternatively, accept that its a 'senior moment' and it will happen again.
And again...
and again....
ad infinitum...

Dave.

I am still looking for that NOS 80's shimano cable hanger thingy for my road bike and the security allen key for my security QR things which are securely secured to a bike... (Im so glad the car came with 2 keys...)

resign myself to the fact they'll show up exactly two weeks after I have given up and sold/thrown out what ever it is that it was going to go with

Not lost any parts recently but was going freaking mental last weekend when i could'nt find my big shifting spanner to remove a bottom bracket, searched the house, garage, cars, it was nowhere :x , ended up using a worn out pair of stilsons on the BB tool, needless to say when they slipped and i rapped my knuckles i could have firebombed the garage and watched it burn to the ground while dancing and laughing like a loon

So i dont calm down i just get progressively mental, i think i've inherited my temper and impatience from my Dad, my Mum told me a story about him stripping the cooker down to clean it, he could'nt get it back together and ended up smashing it to bits
