What do the Hope numbers mean

I see many of the calipers have different numbers on. 3, 4 etc. What do the numbers mean?

The type of mount. From the days when people were still squabbling over the specification for an IS mount. Type 3 is a standard IS.

Hope had the following Caliper #'s

1 - 51mm - Found on Marin Mounts 96 Onwards
2 -
3 - International Standard - 165 Rear 185 Front on C2, O2, DH4, E4 Enduro 4
4 - Early Marzocchi Fit - 96 - 97 Dual sided Tabs
5 - Rear 155 Fit - XC4 (IIRC)
6 - Rockshox Boxxer fit 205 (old school) / 203 (Nu School) Disk
8 - Rear 185 Fitting for IS Tabs - 205 Front on IS Tabs
74 - Manitou / Hayes Post Fit

Plus 20 / 40 Mounts

Hope then moved to use the smaller sized disks which I think knocked 5mm off the size so my DH bike went from 205 with a Big Un / C2 / E4 to 200 with a Bulb / Mono M4.

There used to be alist on Descent-world but it was lost in the great server crash of 09.....

No mention of the C2 caliper half with GT engraved on the inside anywhere.
